What makes Ballinger Horticultural Society?

There is only one answer to that - it's members! The Society thrives on friendliness, and there is no doubt that the great range of fascinating speakers we have, pick up the atmosphere as soon as they enter the portals of Ballinger Village Hall.

Every meeting exudes enthusiasm and that was there even before the glass of wine, we now get!

Trips and talks abound, but our annual Weekend away (sometimes one, often two nights) is perhaps the best evidence of what our society is all about.

When the date, usually May/June is announced at the October meeting, nearly all the places are filled by Christmas! The cost is kept to a minimum and we generally stay in one of a chain of hotels that provide comfortable accommodation and good food. Combine that with a wide variety of garden visits and a group of people who can see the funny side of anything (and believe me the weather once or twice has tested our humour!) there are all the ingredients for a fabulous weekend.
